Thomas R. Olson received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis in 1976. Tom attended law school at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, and graduated in 1981 with a Juris Doctor degree. After graduation from law school, Tom was licensed to practice in both state and federal courts of Minnesota and North Dakota.
Tom moved to the Fargo, North Dakota - Moorhead, Minnesota area where he was engaged in private practice for three years. He then served as an Assistant County Attorney with the Clay County Attorney's Office in Moorhead, Minnesota, for one year. The emphasis of Tom's legal practice has always been litigation. Tom joined the firm in 1986.
Tom is a member of the Clay County Bar Association, the Cass County Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the State Bar Association of North Dakota, the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association, the North Dakota Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. He is approved to serve as an arbitrator through the American Arbitration Association. He has also been certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association.
He is the recipient of an "AV" rating in Martindale-Hubbell. Tom is the author of a publication entitled "Defending the Mild Brain Injury Case" (1996).
Tom and his wife Sandie live in Fargo.
