RICHARD
N. JEFFRIES
Richard N. Jeffries graduated from Minnesota State University in 1965
with a degree in Business Administration. Dick graduated first in
his class at the University of North Dakota Law School in 1970. He
received
the Juris Doctor degree With Distinction. He is a member of the
honorary legal society, Order of the Coif. During law school, Dick
was Articles
Editor of the North Dakota Law Review.
Dick
is a member of the Clay County Bar Association, the Seventh District
Bar Association,
the Minnesota
State Bar Association, the Cass County
Bar Association, the State Bar Association of North Dakota, and the
Florida Bar Association.. Dick is licensed to practice in the state
and federal courts of both North Dakota and Minnesota. He is the recipient
of an "AV" rating in Martindale-Hubbell.
In law school, Dick published two articles entitled Damages - Aggravation,
Mitigation and Reduction of Loss - Recovery of Medical Expenses Under
Both Medical Payments and Liability Coverages in Family Automobile Insurance
Policy 45 N.D.L.REV. 528 (1969); and Automobiles - Liability of Manufacturers
or Sellers - Automobile Manufacturer's Liability for Negligent Design,
45 N.D.L.REV. 100 (1968).
Dick
also published two additional articles in MINNESOTA DEFENSE: Using
the Structured
Settlement
Annuity Expert to Combat the Plaintiff's
Economist in Catastrophic Injury Cases, Spring 1984; and Enforcement
of Settlement Agreements, Spring 1986. His most recent publications
include: A Comparison of Duty to Defend and Insurance Coverage Issues
in Minnesota and North Dakota (1991); Statutes of Limitation in Minnesota
and North Dakota (2001); and Legal Malpractice – A Review of North
Dakota Law (2003).
Dick and his wife Linda reside in Fargo.
